Make Paper Flower Table Settings
In this article we will take a closer look at how to make paper flower table settlings. Just because it is a paper flower - it does not have to mean an actual flower that you would make and place in a vase and set on the dinning room table! Of course you can make them as well and really liven up the room.Let us start with a Christmas table setting after all it is only a few weeks away. Let us do a simple one. You will need a pattern for the flower of your choice. We are going to make an actual paper flower to use as the napkin ring holder so you may want to choose a small flower, skip the leaves and cut the stem to about 3 inches long and wrap it around your napkin.
For the placemat we are going to enlarge the flower petal pattern to the desired size you want using a photocopy machine. You will probably want to adjust the size to 11 X 17 make sure you have that size paper. After you have copied the flower petal pattern decorate it with markers, paint, glitter or anything that is flat and will bring the petal to life.
Next you will want to laminate the flower petal placemat. We recommend you use the self-laminating sheets and do both sides. This will allow you to wash it and use it again for next Christmas.
Next let us look at a wedding placemat and napkin ring holder. You are going to follow the same basic instructions as you did for the Christmas place setting. Choose a color and a flower that will match your wedding theme. Be sure to add a little glitter to give the placemat a little extra sparkle. You are also going to make a name card. You will need white or colored (your choice) card stock to glue the flower too. You are going to make a small flower minus the stem or with a 3-inch stem and attach it to the name card. Doṇ€™t forget to write the guest name on the cards!
For everyday place settings you can choose any flower design and color and follow the basic instructions for the placemats and the napkin rings. For everyday use you may want to consider investing in a thin durable piece of vinyl to cover the flower petal placemat in. This will help it to last a lot longer than the laminating paper.
It is easy to make paper flower table settings and it is a project the whole family can make together have everyone make their own. It just might become a weekly project, as it will not take longer than an hour or so to for each person to make their own table settings out of the crepe paper.
